About Kicks For Korea
Kicks For Korea is a Tampa Bay nonprofit helping Taekwondo students from Kukkiwon-certified schools experience Korea’s culture and world-class Kukkiwon training. Founded by parents, we remove financial barriers so more local students can travel to South Korea, train to Kukkiwon standards, and bring that growth back home.
Through community giving, we provide travel and training scholarships and cover essential trip costs. Students return as positive ambassadors—sharing what they learned through community demonstration team presentations across Tampa Bay. Gifts support the program as a whole and awards are made using objective, need-aware criteria. Kicks For Korea is independent and not affiliated with Kukkiwon.
Kicks For Korea's Mission
Our mission is to open the doors of Kukkiwon to Florida’s Taekwondo youth.
We support students from Kukkiwon-certified dojangs with scholarships for Kukkiwon training in South Korea, cultural immersion trips, and essential tournament costs—so they can grow, compete, and represent our community with pride. We can envision one day bringing the Korean Kukkiwon Schools to Tampa to train, so that the friends made in Korea can experience the same joys of friendship in the United States and Florida. Helping our youth forge lifelong friendships through their love of Taekwondo and cultural exchange.
Our Current Projects
2025-2026 Project
We’re raising funds to support Florida Kukkiwon-certified Taekwondo schools whose demonstration teams placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at the World Taekwondo Hanmadang in Los Angeles (July 2025). Your gift helps send these medal-winning teams to South Korea for Kukkiwon training and cultural immersion—turning a podium moment into a deeper journey of growth, leadership, and cultural exchange.
